Papaya Banana Nut Smoothie

Papaya BananaThis was my morning smoothie.


Per 100g, papaya have 100% of the RDA of vitamin C, which makes them well worth eating. They have a good 20% RDA of vitamin A too, which is in the optimum state  for absorption into the body.This fruit is packed with antioxidants and fibre that help to combat constipation and reduce cholesterol naturally. Papayas are low in sugar so perfect for diabetics.

I always have frozen bananas in my freezer so that when I run out I have a stash. They make a smoothie nice and cold.

Add some almond milk to this and a scoop of protein powder and you have a breakfast that will last you until lunch.


1/2 papaya

3 cups almond milk (make sure it has no carrageenan in it)

1 scoop protein powder

1 frozen banana


serves 2


I added a sprinkle of turmeric on top, a sprinkle of cinnamon and some cacao nibs.


A note on carrageenan: its been linked to cancer and other digestive problems. Avoid additives in food if you can, if you can’t make it yourself at home.
